Where Medicine and Compassion Meet
For over 20 years, I’ve practiced family medicine and obstetrics in the Seattle area, walking alongside women through every stage of life, from adolescence to pregnancy/postpartum and on to menopause and perimenopause. Yet many women leave their medical visits feeling rushed, dismissed, or unsure about their options. Social media can be even more confusing, filled with misinformation and myths when women are searching for real answers and solutions. Where to turn?!?
I saw an opportunity to fill this gap. So I founded Comfort & Confidence in Menopause to change the story. Here, evidence‑based education and personalized strategies come together in a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and empowered.

My Personal Journey
I’ve been where you are
Like many of my clients, I’ve faced the hot flashes, sleep struggles, and brain fog that can derail daily life. I know firsthand how disruptive these changes can feel, to your work, your relationships, and your sense of self.
That’s why I approach coaching with empathy as well as clinical insight. Together, we’ll not only ease symptoms but also embrace menopause as a powerful stage of growth, vitality, and well‑being.

Why You Matter
Your story comes first
Every woman’s menopause journey is unique. Here, you’ll find clear, reliable guidance tailored to your needs, not generic advice.
My goal is to create a supportive partnership where you feel understood, validated, and in control of your choices.
“No woman should feel alone or gas‑lit during this transition.” — Dr. Marci Nelson

What’s the difference between coaching and medical care?Coaching provides education, planning, and support so you can make informed decisions with your doctor. It does not diagnose or prescribe.
-
Do you only support women using HRT?No. I provide evidence-based guidance for both HRT and non-HRT approaches. Together, we’ll review what’s best for your health and preferences.
-
Can this help if my doctor doesn’t have much time for menopause discussions?Yes. I create a concise summary of your plan so you can have a more focused, efficient conversation with your physician.
-
How quickly will I see results? Many clients feel clearer and more confident after the very first session. Long-term results depend on your plan and consistency.
-
Is this covered by insurance?Coaching is typically private-pay. Documentation may be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement depending on your provider.

When is the right time to get peri/menopause coaching? There is no “right” time to start this journey. Perimenopause symptoms may start years before you have any period changes and can include symptoms like irritability, difficulty sleeping, pain with intimacy, decreasing sex drive, anxiety for no obvious reason, joint pains, backaches, frozen shoulder, arthritis, vertigo, and hot flashes or night sweats. Some women may start this process in their late 30s and early 40s, while others may not experience this until their mid to late 50s. It may be helpful to start educating yourself on your options early in the process so you know what to expect and how to recognize and handle peri/menopausal symptoms when they do start affecting your life.
